The MWDBE Governmental Committee Celebrates 20 Years of Excellence

PITTSBURGH, PA (February 25, 2016) –The Minority, Women, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (MWDBE) Governmental Committee is recognizing its 20th anniversary of the organization and 15th year of its Annual MWDBE Conference. The theme for the conference is Making Your Business Everyone’s Business.

“Industry experts will present on how marketing strategies can help attendees target government business opportunities. Speakers will discuss topics that are important for small businesses in the region. It also gives MWDBEs the opportunity to connect with government authorities and other agencies and learn about upcoming business opportunities,” said Paula B. Castleberry, Chairperson for the Conference.

The conference was held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 in the Main Ballroom at Rivers Casino.

Event attendees had the opportunity to network with over 35 exhibitors. Sponsors for this event include Bridgeway Capital, CCAC, Highmark, PHFA, RAD, RDFC, Rivers Casino, 84 Lumber, Bulldog Office Supply, Dollar Bank, and Sota Construction.

The event was hosted by the MWDBE Governmental Committee. The Committee is comprised of city, county, state and federal governmental agency representatives. Its mission is to create effective methods that strengthen economic opportunities for MWDBEs and to provide assistance in securing contracts in the procurement, construction and professional service markets leading to profitability and growth for these businesses.
